Think that butter chicken is too complicated to make? Well guess again because this simple recipe will change your mind!

Everyone loves a delicious butter chicken especially when you’re having some naans!! This is one of the dishes that I’ve wanted to try for a long time but I keep  neglecting it because I thought that it was too complicating to make, until I finally tried making a simpler version of it and it turned out as delicious as a butter chicken should be. This is a must try recipe that will “wow” your family and friends!!


  • 2 chicken breast (diced)
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground tumeric 
  • 6 Tbs butter
  • 1 1/2 yellow onion
  • 3 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbs grated ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves ( minced)
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish


  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Then brown the chicken in two tablespoons of butter and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining butter in the same pot and add in the onions.
  3. Cook the onions till it begins to soften, then add in the garlic and other spices.
  4. After about three minutes, add in the tomato paste and bring it to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add in the chicken and stir it until it’s completely covered with everything.
  6. Next, add in the cream and let it simmer on a low heat for about 10 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper and add in another 2 tablespoons of butter to finish the dish.
  8. Sprinkle some chopped cilantro on top and its ready to be served.
