Thai Green curry paste

Why buy curry pastes from the store when you could make them yourself. Nothing compares to the scent of the curry paste when its being made as it perfumes the kitchen with aromas that will blow your mind. Making curry pastes at home is also better because you could control the heat of your own curry. Here’s a simple green curry paste recipe for everyone to try. Don’t worry about making too much cause the paste could be stored in the freezer for months.

Time: 15 minutes


  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 2 shallots
  • 5 cm piece ginger
  • 2 lemongrass stalks
  • 7 birds eye chillies
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander 
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce 
  • 2 lime leafs
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil


  1. Roughly chop the lemongrass, chillies, ginger, coriander, and shallots and place them into a blender.
  2. Add in the lime leaf, garlic, fish sauce, ground cumin, ground coriander, and cooking oil and blend till smooth.
  3. Add oil to adjust consistency if needed.
  4. Remove the paste from the blender and store it in the freezer or use immediately.
